Meet the Staff

Allen Birthing Center is fortunate to have an experienced and highly-educated staff—with four Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs), as well as talented and supportive birthing assistants, nurses, and caring administrative staff.

Our nurse-midwives have many years of experience and extensive graduate-level education ranging from Masters to Post-Masters degrees, and even a Doctorate Nurse Practitioner degree in midwifery.

We care about you, your family, your baby.

Amy Giles, CNM, MS

Certified Nurse Midwife

Amy holds a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University. She obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Midwifery from the Parkland School of Nurse-Midwifery/UT Southwestern Medical School. She also has a Post-Graduate certification as a women’s health care nurse practitioner.

Kristen Conroy, CNM, MS

Certified Nurse Midwife

Kristen graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1994. She has been serving families at Allen Birthing Center since 2009. In 2014, Kristen earned her Master of Science in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University and joined Allen Birthing Center as a Certified Nurse-Midwife.

Rebekah Bhansali, CNM, MSN

Certified Nurse Midwife

Rebekah grew up in southern Oklahoma and currently resides in Dallas with her husband and son. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Human Development and Family Services. She continued her education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Baylor University, and a Masters of Science in Nursing (Certified Nurse Midwife) at Frontier Nursing University.

Lauren Olvera, CNM, DNP

Certified Nurse Midwife

Lauren received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Baylor University and practiced as a labor and delivery nurse for several years before returning to Baylor for her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Nurse-Midwifery. Lauren practiced in the hospital environment with a large, high-volume OB/GYN group during her first year of practice. In addition to clinical practice, Lauren advocates for women and midwives by serving on various national committees of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
