Conveniently located in the healthcare corridor of Allen, Texas—east of Highway 75 and south of Highway 121, just a short drive from Dallas, McKinney, and Plano—Allen Birthing Center is housed in one of Allen’s original homes known as the Bacus-Brown House.
As one of the anchor structures in the Allen Historical Business District, the Birthing Center’s old-fashioned charm complements all the safety features you expect from today’s modern birth centers. Two major hospitals are minutes from the Birthing Center, and a variety of other healthcare service providers are located within a two-mile radius.
Beautiful architectural details from the early 1900’s abound with the home’s original pine flooring, stairwell details and moldings, and a stained glass transom. One upstairs bathroom has the original claw foot bath tub for the home, and four fireplaces define the waiting room, visiting room, and two birthing suites.
Free of distractions, the Birthing Center provides serenity and privacy. Prenatal visits are conducted in our informal visitation room. During labor and birth you’ll feel at home in the center’s separate, secluded birthing suites, each with its own private bath. In addition to a full array of labor support aids, each suite also has its own specialty birthing tub for waterbirths.
Beautifully-landscaped grounds provide the perfect place to take a walk, enjoy the porch swing, or relax in the gazebo and private gardens. Family and friends are welcome to relax in our community living room and make use of the fully-equipped kitchen.
Allen Birthing Center is licensed by the Texas Department of Health. The Birthing Center also holds membership in the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC).
